Design for science, making the complex simple

Some of our most rewarding and interesting work is with our science sector clients. As a leading London branding and design studio with a growing specialism in life sciences, we collaborate with brilliant and inspiring minds to create effective marketing and communication solutions. We have proudly assisted organisations such as the ABPI, EDIS, the Francis Crick Institute, IFPMA, LifeArc, the Research Complex at Harwell and UKRI with their branding, and helping to simplify their complex structures, messages, and processes. Our ethos of ‘Making the complex simple’ drives our approach to branding and design for all our clients. Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI)
Engaging with a young audience and promoting STEM education

Working with ABPI Schools, we created a children’s character, Ellie, and developed books and materials to engage young people with STEM subjects. We also helped ABPI evolve its corporate identity and improve communication with industry and government through dynamic brand assets that enables them to appear more dynamic, whether via social media, internal communications or prestigious external reports. See our ABPI corporate work here.

EDIS
Championing diversity and inclusion in STEM

Creating a brand and templates to help EDIS (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Science & Health) remove barriers and obstacles for minorities related to career progression in the Science & Health industry. Read our EDIS enews story here.

The Francis Crick Institute
Enhancing the Crick brand, messaging, vision, mission, and values

We conducted a series of workshops between the Crick, ourselves and our copywriter, getting to the heart of where the organisation was, how it was perceived, and what it needed to change. We established how its messaging and brand could work much better in telling a simpler narrative to its many different audiences. These were then fixed in the Crick guidelines so that a uniform message and brand were applied and implemented both internally and externally. Read our Crick brand story and overview here.

LifeArc, a pioneering organisation in the field of life sciences, embarked on a transformative journey to revamp its brand identity. Faced with the need to stay relevant and appealing to its diverse audience, the objective was clear: update and modernise the brand elements to enhance recognition, engagement, and communication of LifeArc’s values and expertise. Research Complex at Harwell (RCaH)
Differentiating the RCaH but staying within the guidelines of the UKRI and its councils

The RCaH work with many organisations across the UKRI councils, often working in partnership with them and other organisations on research projects. As a consequence of this there were many differing opinions as to what the RCaH did, for who, and its value. Through workshops and close collaboration with the UKRI, its councils and key stakeholders at Harwell, we established visually and in words the principles of RCaH’s essential role – what made them different and the benefits to the scientific community. Read our RCaH and UKRI enews story here.

IFPMA & DCVMN
Creating materials that help enhance global vaccine understanding

We were approached by IFPMA to develop a new co-branded set of presentation materials that tell the story of how vaccines are manufactured and supplied globally. IFPMA and DCVMN wanted to produce co-branded materials that help better inform its partners on the key vaccine manufacturing considerations to secure sustainable supply through shared understanding.
