Do I Really Need an Allergy Test?

With any product that we put on our skin there is always a possibility that we might have or develop an allergic reaction. In extreme cases, a reaction can be very serious so before we colour your hair, we need to ask a few simple questions that will give us a good indication about whether you might need an allergy test.

What does it mean if I need to have an allergy test?

The questions identify whether you are at a higher risk of having a reaction. If you need to have an allergy test, this is very easy to do and only takes a few minutes. You don’t need to make an appointment, simply pop in and we will place a dab of hair colour behind your ear. If you have no reaction within 48 hours then you can go ahead and have your hair coloured. However, if the test area starts to feel itchy, looks red or blotchy then we are unable to colour your hair.

The allergy test lasts for up to 6 months. If you frequently colour your hair you are unlikely to need the allergy test again.

But I Don’t Have Time For An Allergy Test

I know this may be inconvenient but for us your safety comes first. We won’t be able to colour your hair unless we believe you are totally safe. So if you do need an allergy test then you will have to come in for one before we will colour your hair.
